The Asbestos Project Designer course meets the guidelines established by the U.S.EPA and is approved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. It focuses on the development of drawings and specifications, and the supervision of contractors who carry out the specifications of the design.
This 1-day refresher course satisfies the requirements of the 1994 Model Accreditation Program (MAP) which specifies that refresher courses be consistent with the initial course. Under the previous MAP, for example, many Project Designers had taken the Contractor/Supervisor Initial and Refresher courses and maintained their Project Designer license this way.
The new MAP specifically states that, for each specialty area, the license, initial course, and refresher courses must be consistent. Therefore, Project Designers must take a Project Design re-certification to maintain their accreditation and Missouri State Licensing.
