This online course satisfies the classroom portion of the required annual refresher to maintain certification under AHERA, and the OSHA standards. It is a course which reviews the O&M duties and responsibilities and covers recent changes and advances in technology.  According to OSHA, Operations and Maintenance training is for workers involved in Class III asbestos work.  This training allows a person to complete a project that includes removal or repair of up to three linear or three square feet of asbestos containing materials.

The remaining “Hands-On” portion of this course may be satisfied by the employer of the workers or at STC during one of our regularly scheduled initial courses.

Who Should Attend:

This course is required training (under U.S. EPA/AHERA) for all school workers whose activities will disturb asbestos-containing materials. O & M training is required under the recently revised OSHA Asbestos Construction Industry Standard for both workers and Competent Persons engaged in the Class III work category.

Prerequisite:

OSHA requires that all employers provide sixteen hours of operations and maintenance (O&M) Initial training to any employee who is “likely to disturb” asbestos-containing material during repair or maintenance activities. (Under the new regulations, such work is now considered Class III abatement.)

SPECIAL NOTE: All students who are taking a refresher course MUST provide a copy of their current (non-expired) training certificate prior to payment You can send a scan or digital copy to safetytrainingcenter@stc-stl.com.
